SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS!
Universal Preschool Funding is a State funded program allowing Pre-K students to attend 10 hours a week (for our M/W/F program) or 15 hours a week (for our M-Th program) tuition-free for the school year prior to their official Kindergarten year (UPK hours do not apply to our Tues/Thurs program). There will be a small monthly surcharge for Pre-K classes for the additional weekly hours beyond the free hours. The amount will depend on program choice and days of attendance. UPK funding will not apply to our two-day programming.
Students qualify for tuition-free hours when they are four years old by the October 1st cutoff date. Please note, funding is not available for students who are enrolling for a second year of Pre-K if they are five years old before October 1st of the school year. However, families are welcome to enroll for a second year of Pre-K and register for tuition-based enrollment.
To find out more information about UNIVERSAL PRE-K and REGISTER for UNIVERSAL PRE-K, go to the Colorado Department of Education Website and find the Family Portal: https://cdec.colorado.gov/Colorado-universal-preschool.
CURRENT FAMILIES ENROLLING IN PRE-K – It is very important to enroll in the Pre-K program between January 15, 2024 and February 2, 2024. There will be limited spots available and enrolling between these dates will ensure you have space for the 2024-25 school year. Enrolling in this period will give Pre-Registration priority in the UPK portal as well, afterward families will be rolled into the matching process and may not be guaranteed a match with MHELC. Please note, New family enrollment starts February 5th and open any available spots up to new students.
NEW FAMILIES ENROLLING IN PRE-K – Registration will begin February 5, 2024. Registration is a two-step process. Go to the 2024-25 Registration button to begin. You will create an account on MyProcare.com, follow the prompts and submit. Mission Hills ELC will follow up to confirm space availability with instructions on finalizing Pre-K enrollment. Families will also need to visit the UPK website to apply for matching with MHELC.
